1 If using a Free Claude Plan, save the API key

This step is only necessary if you’re using the free Claude plan, or want to use n8n.

Claude Pro will use oAuth to connect instead.

Open your Config file in a text editor:

Save the API key somewhere

Save a copy of the API key, you’ll need it later (just the part between the quotes):

2 Delete the old MCP server

In Claude, go to Settings > Developer > Local MCP servers

And press the delete button next to polar-mcp .

Confirm the deletion.

Restart Claude.

3 Install the new MCP
